Together Health needed high-barrier compostable kraft paper pouches for over 20 different product variations, each requiring different quantities while still protecting the integrity of their supplements.The Challenge
- Sustainability without Compromise: The company was determined to adopt compostable kraft paper packaging but needed to ensure that the barrier performance would meet the high standards required for supplement protection.
- Managing Complex Designs: With more than 20 different packaging designs, traditional printing methods like gravure weren’t feasible due to the variation and low quantities for each design.
- Color Consistency: Replicating the natural brown kraft paper background across all variations presented a challenge in ensuring precise color reproduction.
How We Helped
- Developing a Custom Solution: We worked closely with Together Health to design a multi-layered compostable pouch structure. By incorporating biofilm from trusted sources, we ensured that the packaging provided the necessary barrier performance, protecting the supplements while maintaining sustainability.
- Offering Flexibility with Digital Printing: To handle the wide range of designs and varying quantities, we recommended digital printing. This allowed us to efficiently produce each variation while maintaining high-quality printing for every product.
- Achieving Accurate Color Matching: Knowing how important the look of the packaging was to Together Health, we conducted multiple rounds of color testing and calibration. This iterative process ensured that we captured the perfect brown kraft background they wanted, without compromising on quality or consistency.
Additionally, we incorporated features such as resealable closures to enhance user convenience while keeping the pouches eco-friendly. This not only aligns with Together Health's sustainability goals but also adds value to the consumer experience. The resealable option ensures that the supplements remain fresh and potent after the initial opening, catering to customers who prioritize quality and usability.
