A Homestead Fueled by Family and Fresh Roasts
Tucked away in Southeast Portage County, Ohio, Rusty Creek Homestead is more than just a working farm—it’s a story of legacy, innovation, and passion. For Kevin and Carol, their land has been a place to raise children, grow food, and now, craft small-batch coffee with heart and purpose.
What began as a curiosity quickly turned into a mission. Disappointed by the lack of transparency in mass-market coffee, they began roasting their own beans—with nothing more than a popcorn popper and a lot of curiosity. That spark led to custom-built roasting equipment and, eventually, a full-scale operation grounded in quality and care.
Roast-to-Order: A True Labor of Love
Rusty Creek Homestead stands out with its “Roast-to-Order” approach. Customers can select the origin, roast level, and grind, and each bag is roasted fresh and hand-labeled with the recipient's name. This level of personal attention reflects everything the homestead believes in: transparency, purity, and treating every cup of coffee as a gift.
They’ve beautifully balanced innovation—like Kevin’s DIY roaster build—with old-school values. From their family-run homestead to each carefully roasted batch, it’s a model that embodies authenticity.
Thoughtful Packaging for Thoughtful Coffee
We're incredibly honored that Rusty Creek Homestead chose our 12 oz and 16 oz Stand-Up Pouches to package their freshly roasted coffee. These pouches offer both form and function—protecting the beans' freshness while maintaining the rustic, minimal aesthetic that aligns with their handmade, handwritten approach.
Whether displayed at a farmers market or shipped directly to a customer’s doorstep, these pouches help preserve what makes Rusty Creek coffee so special: its purity and its story.
