From Labels to Custom Pouches: Operation Coffee’s Packaging Journey
Operation Coffee started from a deeply personal place for Sam Floyd. As a Marine Corps veteran, Sam began roasting coffee to raise awareness about veteran suicide and support fellow service members. Each blend tells a piece of his story.
At first, Sam used simple kraft pouches with labels. It was straightforward and worked well for a small operation. But as the brand grew, the packaging needed to do more. Sam wanted something honest, something that truly reflected what Operation Coffee stands for without extra frills.

We sent Sam several kraft pouch samples in different sizes so he could see how they looked, how they stood on shelves, and how well they sealed. We also worked with him to adjust his design so it fit our pouch dimensions and added some details to get everything just right.
In the end, we settled on a custom 12 ounce stand-up pouch designed to hold 340 grams of coffee. It includes a degassing valve to let gases escape while keeping air out, plus a zipper to keep the coffee fresh longer. The matte finish gives the pouch a grounded, confident look that feels intentional without being flashy.
That 12 ounce pouch became the primary package for his blends. For larger sizes like 2 and 5 pounds, we continue to supply kraft bags that are simple and reliable.
Moving from blank bags with labels to fully printed pouches gave Operation Coffee a cleaner look and helped build a stronger brand identity. Blends like Battle Buddy and The Caregiver now stand out with packaging that tells their story clearly but quietly.
The new packaging also made fulfillment easier and became an important part of the overall brand experience. It is more than just a container now it is part of the story.
At Enviro Flex Pack, we do more than supply packaging. We help brands tell their stories with care. For Operation Coffee, that means creating packaging that fits the mission one bag at a time.
